Overseas Missions: Vicariate: South Africa: Botswana: Kimberley Vicariate: REPORTS: "St. Patrick's Province Bechuanaland Mission FIRST ANNUAL REPORT" Recounts the departure of the first missionaries and their arrival and welcome in Becuanaland (Botswana). Khale Mission was taken over immediatly. Frs Urban and Carthage went to Maffeking to take lessons in Setswana, Four more C.P. Sisters arrived in August. During the year the college and mission at Khale, the mission at Ramoutsa were taken over and a new mission at Francistown established. A detailed description of Khale and its outstations is included together with an account of the work undertaken and accomplished. Details on Francistown are also supplied. Some statistical information is included at the end of the report
St. Patrtick's Province: Provincial Chapters: 9th Chapter: Convocatory Letter: 3 leaves. Typewritten and Mimeographed CRONAN of the Sorrowful Virgin (Doyle) ,CP., Provincial, to all members of the Province. CONVOCATORY Letter to the Ninth Provincial Chapter, to be held at Mt Argus, on 16th April 1953. Last year was Silver Jubilee of St. Patrick's Province. During that time, 3 new Retreats and much enclosed Retreat work at Coodham (St. Michael's, Dankeith). Number of CPs has doubled to 199, Missions& Retreats - 100%_ increase (to 341 per year). We've undertaken responsibility for Bechuanaland Protectorate. 3 points mentioned in last Convocatory. Letter: Alumniate has been transferred to Crossgar: from Tanganyika we've transfered to Bechuanaland., and 6 CP Sisters are there too. Rise in costs has meant putting off building at Cloonamahon.
