It is likely that the photograph was taken in May 1934 when an address from the citizens of Cork was presented to Pope Pius XI in honour of the papal holy year.

The forms include information in respect of the numbers of friars ministering at mission stations, the local populace (both European and indigenous), the numbers of Catholics and non-Catholics, the numbers of mission schools, hospitals and orphanages founded, and the numbers of baptisms and communions. The file includes a list of Irish Capuchins resident at mission stations in both Northern Rhodesia and in South Africa in June 1947 and in June 1952.
