Mount Argus: Finances: letter from J. Broughton, Solicitor, 28 Finsbury PArk, Londonto Fr. Dominic O'Neill, C.P. re estate of John Rook ( see items under serial numbers 426 and 427). Nothing allows trustees to forego interest. A court order would be required for this. Suggests Dominic write to Trustee's solicitor,, J.H. Bolton, 11 Gray's Inn Square, London and ask to be let off interest. If Mr. Rook consents, court might allow it. The question of the interest has to be settled first.

Asks very nicely for the repayment of £4.000 loaned 10 years ago.They need the cash to procure a neighbouring factory for £3,500 in order to save their own property. Payment of the purchase price is expeted from them on 2 September, so when can CPs pay up? (see item serial no 437 of 27.07.1872)

She wishes to make a gift of £80 of this to them. 20 promissory notes of £16 each - each dated 01.11.1883 - to be made payable to her. First to be paid on 01.11.1884 and on same day for next 20 years (up to 1903). No interest payable.
